I used the pattern that I found at Joy of Life, but modified it and completed the moss stitch all the way to the top. These are great to use in the shower because you can hang them up to dry out and when your soap is gone, just rinse out the soap saver and throw it in the laundry to wash. I especially like using soap savers because I feel like I can get a better lather out of my soaps.

Happy crocheting!

If you are interested in learning how to crochet a flower, you have stopped by the right place! They are truly one of my favorite projects to work on because they crochet up very quick and look cute as an embellishment to almost anything! I use these flowers on newborn hats, headbands and ear warmers, blankets, scarves and handbags. The possibilities are endless! I’ve even seen people use them in scrapbooks or on handmade cards.

Whether you are looking to decorate your home with flowers that you don’t have to water, or are looking for some added color in a project, the flowers below are a sampling of many different shapes and sizes and should get your started! Remember that flowers can turn out very different based upon what type of yarn you use to crochet them with. I normally use an acrylic or cotton blend when creating mine, however some of the pom flowers might look really cool made out of a fun fur. Tip: When using yarn like fun fur, Use a light colored thread to double it with, that way you can see what you are crocheting and it won’t show up in the final result of your project.

Hey, and if you decide that you don’t like the result, just don’t cut the end and you can always unravel the yarn and try over again! Another reason why I love yarn projects so much… there is never much waste!

I hope that you enjoy my collection of over 50 Crochet Flower Patterns and Tutorials from around the web!

I’m making several of these for a friend this summer to go along with her bath salts. I use Sugar and Cream cotton yarn to crochet these so that they dry better and I can throw them in the laundry with my towels and wash cloths after use.

Supplies:

Yarn. Sugar & Cream Cotton. A cotton/acrylic blend is also acceptable, as it may dry faster.

Crochet Hook, Size H/5.0MM

Pattern:

Chain 10, slip stitch in the first loop to create a circle.

Round 1: Do 1 Single crochet (then ch 5, sc back in circle) Repeat () 40 times. At the end of the first round, chain 30 to create the bath puff’s handle and sc back on the circle.

Round 2: In each ch 5 loop space, (sl st, 8 dc, sl st). Secure and tie off the yarn after your last stitch. Weave in the ends.

Helpful terms:
ch – chain
sl st – slip stitch
sc – single crochet
dc – double crochet

If you already know how to crochet, this pattern is a pretty simple one. If you don’t know how to crochet, I suggest you check out The Crochet Geek over on You Tube. That is where I have learned most of my stitches and is my go-to place for remembering how to do old ones that I have forgotten!

Can you believe that this was my first ever blanket I have completed? I usually tend to go for more of the instant gratification projects that I can complete within an hour, but this one just took me a few weeks to complete. I love how the pattern makes the blanket look really soft for baby! This blanket is the best baby shower present ever!

Not the best picture, but at least you can see it folded up. It turned out much better than I expected and I was happy that I finally could say that I had crocheted a baby blanket!

Do you like quick projects, or tend to work on longer ones that can be completed over time?

Directions

Cozy

Step 1: In red yarn, chain 28 sts and join with a slip stitch.

Step 2: Place a stich marker in your join chain to hold your place.

Step 3: Chain 1 and single chain into every stitch all the way around. Continue around without joining until you have 13 rows. When you have reached parallel to the stitch marker, slip stitch into the next stitch and knot. (To knot I simply cut the end of the yarn and weave it back through my final slip stitch).

Step 4: Weave in ends.

Step 5: Join at the place where you ended your last stitches with the blue yarn and single crochet one row. Slip stitch at the end, knot and weave in ends. Repeat this for both sides.

Thing 1 Applique

Step 1: Using your white yarn chain 2.

Step 2: In the 2nd chain from hook, 8 hdc. Slip stitch to join.

Step 3: Chain 2 and hdc in the same stitch. 2hdc in each remaining stitch around and join with a slip stitch (16 sts).

Step 4: Chain 2 and hdc again in the same stitch. Repeat by doing 2hdc in each stitch around. Join with a slip stitch (32 sts).

Step 5: Using black, join to the white and chain 1. Single crochet the entire row and slip stitch when you get to the end. When you cut your yarn, leave enough for you to be able to sew this to the cozy.

Step 6: Cut a long piece of yarn to use to embroider the wording on the applique. I pulled my worsted weight yarn in half and I used 2 strands only instead of the full 4 for the wording. This made it a bit smaller and thinner to work with. Using your yarn needle, embroider on the lettering.

Step 7: Using the long tail of yarn on your applique, sew it onto the coffee cozy with your yarn needle.

I hope that you enjoy this Seuss-inspired craft! I know I will be enjoying his birthday with a warm cup of coffee so that I can use my new cozy!
